The American Legion is "Still Serving America."  This is only a part of what The American Legion did "for God and Country" in a recent program year.  Annually the AMerican Legion spends nearly $33 million on programs benefiting children and youth.
  • Awarded more than 11,000 medals to Junior ROTC Students
  • Sponsored more than 16,000 American Legion Boys State delegates and Girls State, through the AL Auxiliary.
  • Sponsored more than 2,000 Scouting units serving 60,000 youngsters.
  • Sponsored more than 2,400 American Legion Baseball teams and  an additional 1,700 youth baseball squads.
  • Awarded more than $4 million in college scholarships to deserving students.

Leonard W. Kidd American Legion Post 2001 takes the time to work with a local Cub Scout Pack to teach them the proper method of retiring old, worn US Flags. Flag Retirement services are available to the community, just send us a note!
